Service 02
From traditional cut roofs to modern trussed rafter systems, Blackburn Carpentry delivers expert timber roofing across the South West. We work on new build, extension and re-roofing projects with the same attention to structural integrity and craftsmanship.
A well-built timber roof is the foundation of a weathertight, energy-efficient home. Our carpenters work to precise specifications, co-ordinating with roofing contractors, structural engineers and building inspectors throughout the process to ensure every project passes inspection first time.
We have particular expertise in loft conversions and dormer extensions — complex roof structures that require careful calculation and confident execution.

Do I need a structural engineer for my roof project?
For new roofs and significant alterations, yes — a structural engineer's calculations are typically required for building regulations approval. We can recommend trusted local engineers if needed.
Can you repair an existing timber roof?
Yes. We carry out repairs to existing timber roof structures including replacement of rotten rafters, purlins and ridge boards, as well as strengthening for loft conversion loads.
